€40 per employee + €40 per dependent child, per year.

Wedding

Up to €245 per event.

Legal cohabitation

1x gross monthly salary.

Which occasions entitle you to gift vouchers without charges?

Belgian law provides specific occasions: Saint Nicholas, Christmas and New Year (€40/employee + €40/dependent child), wedding or legal cohabitation (€245), retirement (€40/year of service, min. €120, max. €1,000), birth (€50), seniority bonus (25 years: 1x gross monthly salary, 35 years: 2x) and honorary distinction (€120).

How long are gift vouchers valid?

Monizze gift vouchers are valid for 1 year from the date they are loaded onto the card. After this period, any unused balance expires automatically.

Can I grant myself gift vouchers as a self-employed company director?

Yes, self-employed company directors (with a company) can grant themselves gift vouchers under the same conditions as their employees. If you employ staff, your vouchers cannot exceed the value of those of your employees. Self-employed individuals without a company are not entitled.

What happens if I exceed the maximum amounts?

If the amount granted exceeds the legal cap, the entire gift voucher becomes subject to social contributions and tax — not just the excess. Respect the maximum amounts per occasion to keep the benefit tax-free.
